Today we all brought in our research about the methodologies we would need to use during our project.

Amy was assigned salts and iron and she found out that to test for these we would need to learn how to do a titration

I was assigned water content and organic content. My methods will involve heating to constant mass.

Denise was assigned Vitamin C and sugars. She told us that her method for Vitamin C would require a titration against iodine solution whilst Benedicts solution could be used for sugars.

There is a lot to do and we might not be able to do all the tests we researched about. However, we decided to start with the Vitamin C test since the chemicals and apparatus were readily available in the laboratory.

In the next meeting we will discuss titrations with our teacher and start learning how to work out titration calculations since we haven't done them in class yet. We will have to learn the theory before we do it in class.
